The nearest Airport to Darjeeling is  Bagdogra International Airport, and the nearest railway station is Siliguri. But interestingly, from Siliguri, you can choose to take the conventional broad gauge railway or the fun toy train that whistles and goes up the winding roads of the hills for nearly 7 hours to help you reach Darjeeling. Siliguri, on the other hand, is very well connected to Kolkata, one of the metro cities of India.

Located 11 km from Darjeeling, Tiger Hill is absolutely gorgeous and can give you some amazing moments to click during sunrise. To capture some of the amazing vistas, hop on to the watch tower and experience the skies changing their colors from golden hues to bright sunny orange shades.

And you can pay your homage to the Gorkha soldiers who did not think twice before laying down their lives for serving their country during the war. When in Darjeeling, you just can’t afford to miss mall road. It is the center of the action. From horse rides to shopping extravaganza and some “ touch me now” moments with Kanchenzhongha are your best bets. The mall road is the vibrating lifeline of Darjeeling that renders its distinct identity.

It is the highest mountain zoo in India.

And to catch a glimpse of the tumbling waterfalls the Barbotey rock Garden can be a marvelous site.
